Work Work Work ...

Finally, the down hill slope of the week! Woot woot.

This week I have decided to be more of an active employee. At first I was holding a little grudge because my superiors don't really know how to be superiors. So I decided to say "stick it" in my own way and kind of did my job half-assed well actually thats a lie. Only half of my job I did half-assed the other half I do excellent if I do say so myself. (But we won't get into all of that right now.) Anyway, with the temperatures so cold we have been forced to stay inside. Which isn't great for me. (Pray for 40's everyone!) So long story short I have 30, 5 year olds for an hour and a half each day... to protect and serve. Just throw them in a gym let them play tag right??? Wrong: choir meets in the gym. Okay throw them in one of their classrooms and let them play with the activities in there. Wrong: the teachers apparently get a little peeved when I let them use their things.
So me with my teaching degree and my many years of practice with kids get to entertain. Wrong AGAIN: I have no clue what I'm doing and can I just say 30 kids are overwhelming! But I just wanted to do a little bragging because I had an awesome day and only two kids got bored the whole time! (and that was just in the last couple of minutes.)

However, that was one day and I'm pretty sure I can't do the same thing with them every day and not have them get bored. SOO I need ideas on how to keep them busy I'm talking the WHOLE time because you give them any time to think and they get all crazy and once you lose them there is no turning back. And keep in mind any ideas pitched my way need to involve me not providing any materials of my own because I'm not that nice of a person AND I don't have any money for that kind of crap.

  1. I vote for kicking the choir out of the gym!!! It's completely ridiculous to even consider any other alternative. . . Go straight to the principal on that one and have them moved for the duration of the winter just in case you have to stay inside so there isn't any last minute scrambling and switching. I can't believe the schools these days- how could anyone possibly think putting kids that should be at recess anywhere but the gym is even an option. . . I have to stop thinking about this now before my brain explodes

  2. Melanie thanks for being so understanding because that is exactly what I think every single day! I'm getting pretty good at this whole "being prepared" thing though
